Home Buyer Education and Assistance
NeighborWorks® Southern New Hampshire is a proud member of the HOMEteam collaborative, a non-profit membership organization created through a partnership between CATCH Neighborhood Housing, NeighborWorks® Southern New Hampshire and Laconia Area Community Land Trust.
HOMEteam's mission is to help individuals and families in New Hampshire by providing a comprehensive menu of homeownership opportunities. CATCH, NWSNH and LACLT are all Charter Members of NeighborWorks® America with exemplary ratings and are local housing counseling agencies certified by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
HOMEteam was formed to provide greater access to quality consumer education for anyone who is seeking to buy or maintain a home. By providing a full array of quality education opportunities and resources to fit customer’s needs, HOMEteam is part of your solution. Whether you are seeking to purchase your first home, or to retain your existing home, HOMEteam was created to help you. The more than sixty years combined experience of three of the state’s top performing non-profit agencies is what makes HOMEteam your best resource.
The educational programs are an integral part of our approach to fulfill our mission of providing access to affordable housing services. HOMEteam offers FREE home buyer education, financial capabilities training, landlord workshops, foreclosure prevention and intervention services, one on-one counseling and access to special matched saving programs to help home buyers achieve the dream of home ownership.
The first step in the process is to attend one of the many offered seminars or workshops. Once an individual completes a seminar or workshop, they become eligible to meet with a HOMEteam Counselor/Coach. A counseling session consists of analyzing credit and finances to help determine the most affordable housing options for the client. Sessions are tailored to meet the needs of the particular client.
For home buying clients not completely ready to purchase, the counselor will work with them to set up a step- by- step action plan to help overcome any current or potential obstacles to buying a home. The program offers guidance with repairing credit, budgeting, and money management in preparation for homeownership. For clients that are “purchase-ready” the focus is more on understanding the responsibilities of home ownership along with current real estate industry products and guidelines.
All the education opportunities at HOMEteam are open to the public and are offered free of charge. Start now by calling 866-701-9097 or register on line.
