On Thursday, September 19, 2013, NeighborWorks® Southern New Hampshire recognized Fred B. Kfoury, Jr., posthumously, as this year’s recipient of the David P. Goodwin Outstanding Neighbor Award. The event took place at a reception at the Straw Mansion Apartments located at 15 Temple Court in Manchester.
“Fred B. Kfoury, Jr. was not only instrumental in the founding of this organization, but his enduring impact and impression on NeighborWorks® Southern New Hampshire and the City of Manchester lives on as we seek to continue his passion for providing opportunities for quality, safe affordable housing for those who live in our community,” stated Robert Tourigny, executive director of NeighborWorks® Southern New Hampshire. “Fred embodied the qualities of a caring and committed volunteer, Trustee, and human being, and we are deeply grateful for his generosity and service to this organization and our community.”
The David P. Goodwin Outstanding Neighbor Award recognizes an individual or entity who exemplifies a commitment to the availability of quality affordable housing and homeownership opportunities through generosity and service to NeighborWorks® Southern New Hampshire.
A committed and generous community leader, Fred B. Kfoury, Jr. served as a Trustee of the organization for twenty years, joining with other community leaders to address housing and revitalization needs first in Manchester and then in Southern New Hampshire as the organization expanded its scope of focus.
The Kfoury family accepted the award in Fred’s honor. Guests of the event included Mayor Ted Gatsas, community and business leaders, as well as friends of the Kfoury family and other partners and supporters of NeighborWorks® Southern New Hampshire.
