On Wednesday, September 17, 2014, NeighborWorks® Southern New Hampshire awarded Manchester resident Pauline Ikawa with this year’s David P. Goodwin Outstanding Neighbor Award. The award was presented by Robert Tourigny, Executive Director of NeighborWorks® Southern New Hampshire, and Dean Christon, Executive Director of New Hampshire Housing, at a reception at the Straw Mansion Apartments, located at 15 Temple Court in Manchester.
“Over the past twenty years, Pauline has drawn on a wealth of professional and personal experience to help guide and shape this organization, its mission, and how it accomplishes its goals,” stated Robert Tourigny. “Pauline has risen to the challenge of new and different roles within our organization on countless occasions, serving as our Board Secretary for three terms, as Chair of the Credit Committee, on the Resource Development Committee, and in many other volunteer capacities over the years. Her continued commitment is truly outstanding, and is something to be celebrated.”
The David P. Goodwin Outstanding Neighbor Award recognizes an individual or entity who exemplifies a commitment to the availability of quality affordable housing and homeownership opportunities through generosity and service to NeighborWorks® Southern New Hampshire.
A committed and generous community leader, Pauline Ikawa has served NeighborWorks® Southern New Hampshire in a myriad of roles for more than twenty years. In 1992, she joined with other community leaders to address housing and revitalization needs in Manchester to form Manchester Neighborhood Housing Services, which went on to expand in the region and is now known as NeighborWorks® Southern New Hampshire.
Guests of the event included Mayor Ted Gatsas, community and business leaders, as well as other partners and supporters of NeighborWorks® Southern New Hampshire.
